Port Calm is the 3rd level in Ape Escape 2.
Description[]
The level is a small outside water town surrounded by buildings. It has a a couple of outdoor cafés and has Gondolas circling around the level. Two large bridges sit above the water, connecting different parts of the town. A large fountain is initially locked behind a gate, and a sunken boat can be found just behind it. An indoor swimming pool and shower area is located underneath one of the buildings.

Strategy[]
Gondola Hopping: The Gondolas circling the levels can allow you to navigate the level without swimming. One of the monkeys can only be reached by jumping from a Gondola or by using the Sky Flyer Gadget. Keep in mind that the monkey on a Gondola will dive into the water when scared.
Water Navigation: This level introduces the Water Net and with it, swimming. Monkeys who are stationed near the water will often dive in when alerted to your presence. In Ape Escape 2, the Water Net can catch swimming monkeys from a distance, so use this to your advantage.
Time Trial[]
The time trial for this level requires you to catch 4 monkeys.

An efficient way to get the gold trophy is to first make sure you have the following Gadgets equipped Stun Club (or Magic Punch), Time Net and the Sky Flyer. First start by launching yourself towards the monkey Punto by holding both R1 and R2 at the same time. After that quickly jump up out of the water and catch him before he dives off his gondola. Then use the Sky Flyer to quickly fly up to the ledge and catch the monkey Florence. Once you have caught Florence double jump towards Chili and catch him. After he is caught quickly swim across to the other side of the bridge and then fly up using the Sky Flyer to finally catch Seanyboy.

Trivia[]
- This level is based on the Italian city of Venice.
- The monkey Florence is a reference to the city of Florence, Italy.
- Dannyboy, Seanyboy, and Florence all have different names in the NTSC-U/C version than the PAL Version, and the phrases for Seanyboy and Dannyboy are different.
- Punto is one of a handful of monkeys used often in promotional material for Ape Escape 2.
- On September 13th 2022, Punto was featured as a digital collectible for the PlayStation Stars loyalty program[1][2], alongside Toro Inoue and Kuro from the Doko Demo Issyo series, as well as Polygon Man, a former PlayStation mascot and the main antagonist of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. "Whether it's a beloved game character or a cherished device from Sony's innovative history, there will always be something new to collect and show off to your friends."[3]
